Von der Heyden Development is a now member-company of the Von der Heyden family. Adam Trybusz, managing director in Poland of the Von der Heyden Group, reveals that: '15 years of activity in Poland have led us to the conclusion that we have sufficient know-how on how to manage projects and wish to employ this by offering what are called entrusted developer services'. The first such venture is the Nowa Wilda housing estate in Poznań, which is being developed for the TK Development company.
Adam Trybusz made it quite clear that Von der Heyden will not be selling or renting buildings, but can become a joint owner of a project by taking over some of the shares in the target company.
Apart from conducting developer services for customers, the other branch of the family, the Von der Heyden Group, will continue to pursue their own projects. Pride of place here is taken by the development of Andersia Towers (42,500 sqm total space) in Poznań, a building which combines the functions of a 4-star hotel (managed by IBB Hotels) with shopping facilities (800 sqm). Andersia is to open for business in April 2007.
VDHG is also gearing up to start another project in Poznań, called the Marathon Gardens. Negotiations were under way in May with the general contractor of this investment, which involves the construction of 251 flats (16,000 sqm), as well as an office and services unit (around 15 to 12,000 sqm) which are to appear in the II phase of the project.
While talking to Eurobuild, Adam Trybusz refused to comment on rumours on the property market that the Von der Heyden Group has sold a plot intended as the site of the Hotel Mera on the periphery of Warsaw city centre. The purchaser was a Spanish developer, according to the gossip.
