Kinga Konińska, a representative of Von der Heyden Group, has informed PREM that the company had purchased a real property situated in the very center of the Old Town in Gdańsk, at the junction of Długi Targ and Mieszczańska streets. The investor has won the tender issued by Millenium Bank, in which three adjacent tenement houses with total area of approx. 2,500 sqm were put to sale.
The buildings will undergo thorough modernization, and after completing the investment, Von der Heyden will open there a 4-star Hotel De Luxe, the operator of which is going to be the Spanish hotel chain IBB Hotels. The building is going to have 44 rooms and apartments, restaurant, banquet hall and a fitness club. The construction works should begin this autumn, and they should be finalized at the turn of 2007/2008. The total cost of the investment is estimated at approx. 7.5 million EUR (30 million PLN). The Gdańsk based hotel is going to be Von der Heyden Group's third hotel in Poland with IBB as an operator. The Spanish company manages already Grand Hotel Lublinianka in Lublin and Andersia Tower hotel in Poznań.
