Phase one of construction on Poznań's Andersia Business Centre will end in October.

Underground construction work has launched on the Andersia Business Centre in Poznań following the announcement of Warsaw-based firm Porr as general contractor.

Andersia Business Centre will be located in the city center, close to the Old Town, and is being jointly developed by the City of Poznań and Von der Heyden Group at a total cost of €33 million. A special purpose company will be created for the realization of the scheme.

Porr will construct the first phase of the project using its own funds, and negotiations are underway to secure further financing for the rest of the structure. Underground construction work should be completed in October this year.

"The crisis on the financial market has put most of our projects on hold for the last one and a half years or so. We are convinced ... that our timing of commencing construction now is just perfect," said Sven von der Heyden, chairman of Von der Heyden Group.

Constituting the third phase of the Anders Square Development, Andersia Business Centre will comprise 14,500 sqm of net usable office space over five stories and will feature 170 underground parking spaces. A tender for the above-ground construction work will be launched once the developer has secured enough pre-lease agreements.

"At the moment, we have not secured any tenants for the ABC building, but we are in negotiations with a number of potential clients … We hope to sign some pre-lease agreements soon," said Kinga Konińska, head of corporate PR and marketing at the VDH Group.

The ABC building was designed by Ewa & Stanisław Sipińscy Architecture Studio. Probuild will serve as the project manager and Knight Frank the exclusive agent and financial advisor.
